Contemporary Caribbean Art

The Brooklyn Museum's current show highlights:

Raquel Paiewonsky, Levitando: A un solo pie, 2003

Alex Burke, The Spirit of Caribbean, 2006

In Satch Hoyt's piece, "Say it Loud!" the artist creates a literal platform for free speech made out of 500 books on the black diaspora-- all set to the tune of James Brown.
